if you have read the cursed and the fated serial, you will love this little dip into the same world.
we visit MacGregor as he battles the pull to the moon. it's bad this time since he had to step up as temp alpha since mr conner and his wife (ainsley's parent's) have died.
MacGregor was always a likable character and in the other serials rather adamant he didn't want to be Alpha. this book explains why in more details as you see him battle against the monthly pull, now made ten times worse being alpha.
there isn't a woman in town that doesn't drape herself over him and he has a hard time resisting them all. that is until he gets invited to a Cluedo-dinner. in between fighting his urges to sex up almost each female around there seems to be a real theft. this turns into a real who-done-it. things don't turn out to be as they are supposed to.
a real must read to complete the picture of this little pack and town.
In addition to the book, I have listened to the Audio of this story and loved it. The Narrator, Mason Lloyd, is one of my favorites. He never disappoints. Give him a book of Ms Black's and it's a double win.
Mac is a teacher, not the Alpha--at least he was. When his good friend and pack alpha is killed in an accident, he is appointed to stand in until the next in line daughter comes to take over or appoint a new Alpha. Not only is he unprepared for the job, he sure isn't prepared for the reaction by all the females--old and young. With his Alpha pushing out he isn't as good at resisting as he wants to be.
This is a fun mystery, with some humor and character insight. A short story is great to fill in the time when you are limited. Some aren't satisfying because of the length. Not so with Ms. Black, she entertains and fills in some blanks for her longer series set in Tarter's Hollow. It is fun to read about minor characters that interest but don't get enough play in the main story. Thank you, Ms. Black.

I rated this book Five Stars. I have read The Talented Mr. MacGregor three times within time space of one month. I can definitely say it's a Fantastic Book. It's a Fantastic novella of the series A Taker's Hollow Fate of a Alpha and Taker's Hollow Alpha's Curse. It's a part of Awesome Box Set Alpha's On The Prowl. I have enjoyed reading this book all three times the storyline is funny, witty, engaging, mysterious, imaginative and well written. The character's are smart, sexy, interesting, captivating and will make you laugh. Actually I have read a number of Tasha's books and each one has been a joy to read. This is a standalone book but you can also read it as a part of Alpha's On The Prowl.
JD or some of his friends call him Mac. Mac Macgregor is Hot high school teacher who teaches part time at the college and is temporary Alpha! Mac has been invited to murder mystery party by the department chair at the college. There are humans and werewolves all together at a murder mystery themed party that turns to a real mystery for Mac. It has just the right amount of intrigue when you think you have it all figured out there is another twist. WOW! You will never guest what's next! AlI I can say is it's very interesting mystery. You can read the other this book before or after the two Alpha series you won't miss a beat. That's makes for a Fantastic Read.
I Highly Recommend this or any of Tasha Black books to the LOVERS of Paranormal Romance with lots Mystery in it to.
MAGNIFICENT READ
This was a fun read for me I liked it from beginning to end. Mac is a history teacher not to mention a sexy alpha wolf! Tarker Hollow a place with secrets unknown to most, wolves hiding in the woods or in plain site. When the pacts alpha dies Mac is in charge of the group until the daughter of the alpha makes her decision right now though the full moon is out ,and so is Mac's libido! The people in town get invited to a mystery costume party at a mansion, Mac goes ,and we'll a mystery unfolds. Something very dear to the owner Helen goes missing,and everyone is in a panic as it's a who done it, and why . Mac gets surrounded,and between the full moon making him crazy and other things he gets involved in an embarrassing situation. You'll have to read to find out what happens,and who did it, and why ! A really good plot from Ms Black I'm glad I was able to have a chance to read . I received this for an honest review .

I liked her other books better. Yeah there were 2 quick naughty scenes but otherwise this was just a story with no real reason.
I love these series of books. I couldn't wait to read them all. The writing is great & the stories hold your interest throughout the stories. Please try them.
